DUCA DI SALAPARUTA PRESENTS SENTIERO DEL VENTO

A fresh new wine to meet a challenge with very much of a Mediterranean scent
Once again Duca di Salaparuta expresses its love of a good challenge and its appreciation for great Italian wines, vinifying the Vermentino grape cultivated at the Tenuta di Suor Marchesa winery.
Very popular in Italy, Vermentino wine is traditionally made in more northern regions of the country, such as Tuscany, Sardinia and Liguria. Duca di Salaparuta decided to change the rules by setting into motion an emotion-packed adventure that starts with the cultivation deep in the heart of Sicily (quite an unusual terroir for Vermentino) of the grape that comprises the soul of this wine. The summer sun and wind, the calcareous-siliceous soil and the island’s mild winters give an intenser Mediterranean warmth and fragrance to the grapes, which in mid September are ripe for harvesting and vinification.

And it’s here that Duca di Salaparuta’s longtime experience and desire to add a Sicilian twist come significantly into play in making a truly unique wine: great care is taken in processing the grapes so as not to lose a single note, aroma, nuance of their characters. The end result is Sentiero del Vento, a fresh mineral Vermentino with a distinctive personality – like all Duca di Salaparuta products – which is evident right from the design of the elegant, contemporary bottle.
